Katerina Kousouri

Hello people visiting my page. I would like to take the time and introduce myself properly at this point. My name is Katerina, I am 24 years old and I have finished my Communication degree with a Minor in Theatre Arts.   
I discovered my love for arts from a pretty young age and I knew early on that this is something that I was going to be occupied with for the rest of my life and something that wanted to do professionally.  
Creating is my form of therapy. It is my meditation. I find it so exhilarating to be able to express myself without any words.
Another huge love of mine is cinema. I find this form of storytelling mesmerizing. The truth is, cinema has been fascinating me since my childhood years. I found those pictures that would unravel on screen intriguing, and I would often catch myself curious to learn more about those strange, beautiful worlds.  Films communicate stories and ideas and show us worlds we might not otherwise know of.  That is for me the beauty of cinema and the reason I’ve fallen in love with production design. I have always admired the work of the production designers and how they can create the visual look of the film. The way they can create a new world from scratch and convey all the information the audience needs to know about a character based solely on their environment (that being the objects that surround them, their clothing and more).. 
Ever since I can remember myself, I’ve felt this urge to create and build my own little worlds. I used to build furniture from paper for my dollhouses and little dresses from old pieces of fabric for my barbie dolls when I was little. Later, as a teenager, I would visualize thematic photoshoots or recreate scenes from my favorite films and shoot them with my friends. I also picked up painting and sketching around that time again and focused on that more seriously.
Fast forward to more recent times, as a college student while studying, I completed a couple internships in theatrical productions where I would help with the sets and props. I also interned for the Aegean Film Festival in the merch production department back in 2021. All those experiences were invaluable and only made me fall more in love with the creative process. 

That’s why art direction and production design is something I truly want to pursue in life. I want to do a job that will genuinely make me happy and feel excited to get up in the morning. I believe this is the only way to be truly good at something- when you are truly passionate about what you do..and I know I am the happiest when I am creating.
